Anxiety and phobias

No baby is born with a fear of spiders, of flying in an aeroplane, or of public speaking. Any unwanted fear you have isn’t something you were born with, it’s something you have learned. And just as you can learn to be afraid of the dark as a child, and then learn to sleep soundly with the lights off, so you can learn to feel comfortable with whatever it is you fear.

Our brains are designed to help us survive. If you had a scary experience with a dog as a child, your brain quickly builds an association between dogs and danger, and tries to help you out by reminding you of this every time you’re near a dog. The only problem is, this may be an inappropriate fear, as the majority of domesticated dogs are perfectly harmless. So what can you do to re-educate your brain?

In a hypnotherapy session, I will guide you through a tremendously effective process called “the rewind technique”. This has been used by therapists worldwide to de-traumatise people after accidents and to remove fears and phobias - often in the space of an hour. It is safe, reliable, deeply relaxing, and does not involve you reliving anything unpleasant.

At the end of the session, many people find themselves astonished that their old fear now just doesn't matter to them. As if it belonged to somebody else - like remembering being afraid of the dark as a child but it seeming so long ago.

Imagine the differences it will make to your life, the confidence and the freedom you'll feel, when you're free of your fear for good.
